CAPE OF GOOD HOPE PENINSULA

Cape Of Good Hope, originally named the ‘Cape of Storms’ by Bartolomeu Dias in 1488, lies at the tip of the Cape Peninsula and is steeped with history and beauty.  It is located 60 km south of Cape Town and falls within the Table Mountain National Park, which is included in the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site.

Come with us on this magnificent full day tour in which we journey through the Cape Peninsula to really experience this historic location. This was how the Cape looked 400 years ago, with pristine fynbos, unspoilt beaches and indigenous mammals, birds and reptiles. On top of that are incredible views of the Cape Point cliff faces, Cape Of Good Hope and the two oceans.

SAFETY FIRST
All our hikes and walks are guided by qualified field and mountain guides. They have had specialist training on all safety aspects for taking guests out on our hiking tours. There is however still responsibility that each guest must take ; this includes wearing the correct gear, listening to the guides instructions and taking along any necessary medication.
WHAT TO BRING?
At all times of the year bring along sunblock, sunglasses and a hat for protection from the sun. On the clothing side, wear suitable hiking clothes and walking shoes/boots. In winter you will also need a warm layer. Take along a day pack which you can store your camera, binoculars etc plus the food packs and water that we provide for you. We also recommend a hiking pole as many of our trails go up and over some rocky paths and the pole is great as a third leg.
WEATHER GUIDE
Cape Town itself is classified as a temperate climate very similar to the mediterranean, with hot dry summers , and cold wet winters. The maximum temperature averages about 26°C in summer with some days reaching over 30°C. In winter the average minimum is 7°C, but the midday average is 17°C.
In that world, you'll be able to rise in the morning with the spirit you had known in your childhood: that spirit of eagerness, adventure and certainty which comes from dealing with a rational universe.
